Career Services Resource Spotlight - Going Global

What it is: a website that has information for internships/jobs abroad. It profiles 26 countries, including the United States. All country profiles include a variety of information from web links to a country's job posting sites and insights into the country's business culture.

How to access it: Go to https://webcenter.studentservices.tufts.edu/ then log in with your student ID # and password (Just like logging into SIS). Go to the "Navigation" bar to select the Service--"Career Services Web Resources." The "Going Global" resource is at the top of the page!

My Thoughts: The easiest way to navigate the site is to go to "Country Guides" near the top of the screen. You can then browse a specific country's resources by clicking on a country, identified by its flag. For example, if you're interested in working in Italy, find Italy, click, and you're immediately directed to Going Global's information on Italy. Going Global is a great resource because it not only guides you through finding an international internship/job, but it also discusses the different cultural atmospheres of each country. I found the business and cultural advice and guidelines for interviews, cover letters, and resume/CVs (which change for each country) very interesting and helpful. After browsing the site, I have a better knowledge of the international business world and the cultural dimensions of each nation's job market, office setting and professional protocol. If I ever decide to pursue work outside of the US, this is the first site I will go to look for information.
