100+ organizations. These employers represent communications, consulting, education, engineering/computer science/tech, finance, government/law, health care, sciences, nonprofits, and more.
Variety of positions. Organizations are recruiting for both full-time jobs and internships. Check out this employer list organized by industry and research organizations to decide who you might like to speak with at the Fair.
Your introduction. The Fair is a great venue for practicing an "elevator script" to introduce yourself to prospective employers. For more about this, watch our online "Prepare for the Fair" workshop.
Helpful information. You'll be able to collect handouts and brochures from organizations and ask questions like "What are you looking for in a successful candidate for this position?" (Plus, free trinkets! Who can't use an extra t-shirt or pen, right?)
Networking! The Fair provides ample networking opportunities. You'll meet people who work with organizations that interest you and hear the reasons why they like those employers.
Team of advisors. Career Services staff will be available to answer your questions and help you navigate the Fair. Ask us how to make the most of the event and learn about other ways to research careers & find opportunities that interest you. (The Fair is just one of many ways to do this!)
Opportunities for follow-up. The Fair will give you a chance to practice the art of follow-up. For example, you may want to send thank you emails to recruiters and stay in touch with the organizations that interest you. Talk to a career advisor after the fair about strategies for effective follow-up.
The little things. This is your chance to bring out the professional attire (no jeans or t-shirts!) and practice a good handshake. Hint: no vice grip (too strong!) or jellyfish (too weak!) A good handshake is firm, involves eye contact and a friendly smile, but doesn't go on forever - 2 shakes and you're done!
Face time. With so many pieces of the application process happening online, it's nice to have some quality 1-on-1 or small group time with organizations. Not to mention, many of our employer representatives are Tufts alumni who enjoy the chance to come back to campus and speak with you.
Jumbo fans. The organizations who attend the Fair are interested in hiring Tufts students and appreciate the value of a Tufts education.
We look forward to seeing you at the Fair!
